1) Porcupine Mountains State Park

If you are in the mood for a scenic drive and a weekend trip, Porcupine Mountains State Park is your place! Located in the Upper Peninsula, Porcupine Mountains is Michigan’s largest state park. Head up to the Summit Peak Observation Tower for a view that will blow your mind!

2) Tahquamenon Falls State Park

While Tahquamenon Falls is beautiful year-round, nothing quite beats the fall colors at the falls! Bordering along the Tahquamenon River, this state park offers scenic water reflections of the changing leaves. If you’re up for a challenge, hike to the upper falls where you can get up close & personal with nature. If you prefer a more mild adventure, check out the lower falls! The Tahquamenon River is best known for it’s “rootbeer falls” that get their color from the cedar leaves.

3) Addison Oaks Park

Want to stay closer to the Metro Detroit area? Addison Oaks Park is the perfect place for a fun family day! Addison Oaks Park has two large bodies of water so pull up a chair and get ready to take in the view. If you want to get your sweat on, the park also offers over 20 miles of hiking and biking trails!

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or interested in a day out excursion, you don’t want to miss out on Michigan’s fall foliage.
